Exhibition
To make the exhibition I moved all of the items in the storage areas surrounding the exhibition space into the main gallery. Stacks of boxes of storage supplies, of current and obsolete technical equipment, archival materials, accounting documents, and bric-a-brac from over thirty years in the same space all came to light in the gallery. The white cube of the gallery space is constructed as an enclosure within a building that has exterior facing windows. I built doors that penetrated this envelope and provided access to the intermediary space between the gallery and the outside-facing windows. As part of this activity of bringing the structures of gallery-making and gallery-legitimating into the gallery, I also incorporated printed images that documented the gallery in previous states of disarray into the sculptural collage within the exhibition space.
