hiding (displacement)
This is a collection from an ongoing performance.
I hide. I find places in the city where a body could be hidden and occupy them for varied durations. I advertise where and when I will (not) be using newspaper classified advertisements. The work exists between the performed absence of hiding and the documentation (classifieds and photographs), neither of which show the artist, but instead show precisely where and when I was (not) there.

The photographs of the locations are taken after I inhabit the hiding places, indicating where I was (not).
This project inverts the expectations of showing and hiding, producing multiple documents of my absence.

Michelle Lacombe wrote an excellent article on the project in the Montreal magazine Les Fleurs du Mal, click on the image of issue number four for a pdf version.
